"And there's your silly Dad, taking pictures again!"
S4300609
Fisher spies a mountain.
S4300611
Fun for all on a hammock.
S4300612
"Behind the Scenes of a Photograph" (see Mike's picture for full effect).
S4300613
"Let's just get this over with ..."
S4300614
Are we ready yet?
S4300615
There it is finally ... the group photo before the canoe trip. (Yo, yo, Mike.)
S4300618
This was such a beautiful canoe trip on the lower Schroon River.
S4300619
Nicholas, Fisher, and I shared one canoe, while Dad and Mike shared the other.
S4300620
A well-deserved rest. The current was actually strong enough that when we paddled upstream, if both men in the canoe didn't paddle, we would have stayed still.
S4300622
Fisher sat right in front of me a the very front of the canoe.
S4300623
Dad and Nicholas were the "rudder men".
S4300624
This was the most beautiful spot. All along the river, there were these places where you could "pull off" and paddle through the forest.
S4300625
I've never had to canoe around obstacles before ... not that easy of a thing. Nicholas and I hit a few trees. :) Others we used as "pushing off" points.
S4300626
"Ah, the smell of fresh mountain air." Nick breathes it in while admiring the serene view.
S4300627
According to Dad, the river flooded the forest up about 4 feet a few weeks ago. To me, it looks as though this must be a somewhat regular spring occurence, as the forest seemed to handle it pretty well.
S4300628
Paddling downstream was a lot easier than going up. We could basically just float back to the campground's boat launch.
S4300629
The Lower Schroon River.
S4300630
I forget what I was taking a picture of here, but it's pretty, whatever it is.
S4300632
Fun in the sun.
S4300633
A confused Nicholas. I think he was looking for the "pile of logs" that marked where we were supposed to turn into the forest to get back to the campground's boat launch.
S4300634
Fisher had a really great time. But at the end of the trip, he said, "Im tired from all the caoneing." THE NERVE! :)
S4300635
Another "behind the scenes" shot. (See Dad's picture for the full effect.)
S4300638
Back at camp, Mike breaks out his professional regulation Wiffle Ball and Bat.
S4300639
Strike One!
S4300640
This one, Fisher nails "out of the park"!
S4300647
Eric brought along his ladder golf.
S4300648
Untangling the strings was not easy.
S4300652
I can't remember who won the game, or I would type that here.
S4300653
Dad created his Ladder Golf set first. Eric liked it so much, he found some plans on the internet, and constructed his own, that comes apart with pins and packs into a large tent bag.
S4300657
We all had a really great time playing this game.
S4300660
Fisher with his favorite beverage ... root beer.
S4300662
Fisher and his friend, Jerry.
S4300664
Nicholas gave Fisher a glow-in-the-dark tic-tac-toe set.
S4300665
When Fisher went to bed, we had to play a couple of rounds of tic-tac-toe in the tent, to show off the whole glow-in-the-dark effect. Fisher beat me.
S4300666
Dad and Eric drank that whole bottle of wine in a half-hour! (Just kidding.)
S4300667
Mike on the phone to Tara. These kids and their cell phones, ... I tell ya.
S4300668
Fisher plays ball with his new friend Jerry.
S4300670
I think I can speak for Eric, when I say he had a relaxing time.
S4300674
Mike, still on the phone to Tara, but not even taking the time to "wave to the camera, Mike", this time. Geez. Next time, he should just bring Tara with him. ;)
